Question: |
Do I have to manually establish the flow rate through each pipe in the network? |
Answer: |
Pipe Flow 3D does not automatically establish the outlet flow between the various branches in the system (only our Pipe Flow Expert software will do this)
For Pipe Flow 3D:
The user must specify the flow rate for each pipe.
The easiest method of setting the flow rate for each pipe is to set the flow rate in the pipes leading to each outlet point. When you click on the system analysis tab the flow check warning will appear if the flow rate through a pipe does not match with the following dependant pipes.
Click OK to set all flow rates to match the requirements for the outlet flows.
You can use the 'Adjust all flow rates' option to change all flow rates to suit a new overall flow rate, or a new pump outlet condition - the flow rates are adjusted on a percentage basis, maintaining the relative ratio between the flow rates in each pipe.
You may be able to use these 'what if' features to try and find a solution to your problem. |
